Magazine Evaluation
AS Music Magazine Evaluation (click link to open powerpoint file)

This is a draft of my magazine cover, it will have local band “Electric Contradiction” on the cover (i have yet to take the photos). It will show the members standing and looking directly at the camera. The bands sound is based around two Synthesizers and i thought it would appropriate for the Synthesizers to be on stands with the two keyboardists standing by them to give a clear indication 0f what type of music the band play.
I want the overall look of the magazine to be slightly minimalist, much like the cover of Loud and Quiet i analysed on my blog. However i would like to make my cover busier but not too noisy like Kerrang! and NME. The “ELECTRIC CONTRADICTION” will be in a bold and formal text in capitals and “TRANSMISSION” will be in a formal font with spaces in between the letters.
On the bottom left hand corner where there is a “Plus” section, i will use a big “Plus” symbol because its simple and i would prefer to use a symbol that is universally understood. The “ALBUMS OF 2010” and “ONES TO WATCH” are both stories that could change but they will be in a bold font that is easily read.
Questionnaire analysis
I am pleased with my questionnaire results because it shows that the 20 people I asked show an interest for the Indie genre of music which will dominate my final product. I asked 10 females and 10 males to make the questionnaire fair. However, only 3 females answered question 3 with the choice of Indie, I think that this shows how the Indie scene is dominated by Males and this could mean that my magazines target audience would be Male. The People I asked seem to have a keen interest in music magazines, most people said they buy them every fortnight; this is good because if I asked people who weren’t interested my questionnaire wouldn’t have been helpful in making the decisions for my final product.
